	Hello Sven,

I'm leading the Spanish Linux Documentation Project (also known as
LuCAS, LinUx en CAStellano). We've translated several books, as Matt
Welsh's "Linux Installation and Getting Started".

Now, we wish to translate to Spanish the unfinished book, "The
Linux Programmer's Guide". But, first we need your permission (you wrote
the chapter 8); and also, I cannot contact with the main author, Sven
Goldt, because his e-mail address (goldt@math.tu-berlin.de) does not
exist.

Can we obtain your permission for translating your chapter?

And, do you know about Sven Goldt?

	Thanks in advance,

	Best regards,

no problem. hereby you have my written permission to translate the
chapter concerning ncurses in whatever language you prefer. a
notice of the original source would be nice. if you wish, i send
you the latest sources (they are acutally not published anywhere)

please recognize that the lpg is in a rather old condition. the ncurses
library has been developed further, so some of the demo code would
not work properly and some of the text written about ncurses may
be obsolete. unfortunally, I have no time to maintance this chapter
anymore (on the other side I am interested in supporting the Linux
world, but I do not get it done).

I have lost contact 2 years ago. As I know, there is a person called
Sven Goldt at the computer science department at the Technical
University Berlin. I will try to find out, who it is. Please give some
days to do that.

I have one wish: We had the vision to support users not familar
to UNIX programming or advanced programmers not familar
with a particular field in Linux programming. Please keep it small
and simple, and try to keep it inexpensive. The Linux project
is based on that vision, as I truly believe.

Good luck
